Triple Sensing Detector - TSD801PC

Product Information

The 801PC detector is a combined optical, carbon monoxide and heat detector for use with MX Technology® controllers. The 801PC can be used in combination with other MX Technology® detectors with a maximum total of 250 detectors connected to a single 2 wire MXDigital loop.

Approvals:

  • 801PC Triple Sensing Detector Approval Certificate - Loss Prevention Certification Board – LPCB.
  • 801PC & 811PC Fire Detector Approval Certificate – EMC.

Benefits

  • Early reliable detection
  • Eliminate costly false alarms
  • Simultaneous CO toxic gas detection with no additional cost
  • Sequential alarms without the cost of installing additional detectors
  • Mode switching to optimise protection in changing environments

Early Reliable Detection

Early detection saves lives and reduces the resulting cost of fire losses. 801PC Triple Sensing Detector gives early warning of both fast burning and smouldering type fire from a single device.

Eliminate Costly False Alarms

In some jurisdictions, fire authorities are downgrading their response to, or penalising owners of, properties with a history of false alarms. This will drive up insurance costs as insurers respond to cover the additional risk involved.

Tyco Safety Products’ 801PC Triple Sensing Detector uses inputs from all three elements to provide reliable detection and minimise false alarms. In 801PC Universal Mode and 801PC Resilient Mode for harsher environments, there is no need to compromise on response in favour of reliability. The three elements collaborate to provide better protection and validate alarms.

Simultaneous CO toxic gas detection at no additional cost.

In situations where there is the possibility of malfunction or misuse of an appliance that is capable of generating carbon monoxide, it is now possible to use the fire detection system to monitor this risk. Carbon monoxide is known as the silent killer because of its inconspicuous presence and asphyxiating properties. All fossil fuels can produce the highly mobile CO gas which can infiltrate wall cavities and seep into unventilated living spaces. To install an EN50291 approved CO detector in every living space of a multi occupancy building would cost about the same as installing the fire detection system.

The 801PC Triple Sensing Detector can perform both roles – Fire Alarm System and Carbon Monoxide Toxic Gas Alarm System.

Sequential alarms without the cost of installing additional detectors

A sequential alarm system would normally require the installation of two or more detectors of different type in each location. The 801PC Triple Sensing Detector can operate as up to three independent detectors and can generate alarms from any one or any combination of inputs. No need to install multiple detectors.

All three elements of the 801PC Triple Sensing Detector are independently monitored for continuous reliable operation. Any failure of a single element would be immediately identified with the other two elements still operating.

Mode switching to optimise protection in changing environments

As with other MX Technology™ and ZX Technology™ multi-sensor detectors the 801PC Triple Sensing Detector can switch modes and adjust to occupancy changes. This could be as simple as a manual day-night change between two modes, for example 801PC Resilient Mode during the working day and 801PC Universal Mode during the unoccupied night. Occupancy mode switching could be initiated automatically for example when the intruder alarm is set and unset or at pre-programmed set times. The user can also initiate a change of mode manually through the front panel user interface in response to a change of use of a particular area.
